Top of the Morning - and a Beige Epiphany

Happy St Pats Day! We are doing what we lovingly refer to as "boiled dinner" at our house for family (my mom, twin sis and baby sis) and in honor of it I am wearing a "touch of green". Not full bore emerald green I'm sporting but very muted moss green sweater and floral scarf (with same soft muted green) that hubs bought for me on a trip to see his son. But I digress...

The epiphany which I referred to in the title is regarding a contentious beige jacket that I bought 2 years ago because it was a "good deal" and I thought i needed a jacket. Well I DID and indeed DO still need indoor jackets but this is what I have now realized is the fabled "soul sucking beige".

I am attempting to style it in some acceptable way before I goodwill or consign it.My own take on it is that this is an acceptable look but that is all. The jacket has small rounded lapels that kind of emphasize my smaller sloping shoulders. I think the length is ok for me.

I have nothing emotionally vested in this jacket so "let er rip"!

Also I have included the first pic to show you the difference between an sharp lapel and the subsequent rounded one which I don't find myself liking!

NEW dark wash denim skinnies - levi demi curve
moss green pullover cable sweater - Eddie Bauer
black knee high Etienne Aignier riding boots
multi floral scarf
poppy red rain coat.

Gray day but I'm combating it with Color!

Hi lovelies,
It is gray and rainy here in Boise but it is supposed to get up to 56 degrees so I will be able to do my usual lunchtime walk despite the rain! I wanted a cheery outfit so here is what I wore:
black levi demi-cure skinnies
rust colored turtleneck
Multi color scarf
Gray faux leather jacket
black lace up boots
poppy red Eddie Bauer raincoat
black suede rain hat

Hopefully this look meets with approval. Happy Friday!

Gray on Gray with Citron

Hello lovelies,
After yesterday's mediocre outfit teaming gray levis with my green jacket, I have decided to try these new gray straightleg demi-curve levi's with my trusty gray faux leather bomber jacket per some of the suggestions. The rest of the outfit is gray and cream striped LLBEAN boatneck, taupe shooties, citron AT scarf and poppy red topper. Hopefully this outfit will have a little more oomph!

Opinions welcome!

New pair of straight leg jeans from the outlet mall

Hello lovelies,
No skinnies today but I am wearing a new pair of levi demi curve straight leg jeans in gray. I have teamed it with a darker gray fitted turtleneck, funky medallion, the trusty green jacket, new multi color scarf, taupe Born shooties, and new poppy raincoat.

Opinions gratefully accepted. I am not sure if the green seems too pale with the scarf to be really terrific but I do think it goes "ok".

Skinnies for the first time! WIW todya

Hi lovelies,
I went to the outlet mall this last Sunday and purchased a coat and boots which I posted yesterday. I also purchased 2 pairs of skinnies. A first for me! I wore a pair for the first time today to work. What I wore:
black levi demi curve id skinnies
navy blue BR turtleneck
black BR cardigan
black and metal necklace
black striped talbots scarf
red topper coat
black laceup bass boots

I hope this meets with approval. The pants are super comfy. I am used to a higher rise but these seem ok for a longer top.

Ask Angie: For you a dress, and my non-docs. Yellow jacket effect!

Happy Monday lovely YLFR'S

Drum roll! I am wearing a dress today after Angie gently nudged me after yesterday's post. This is not a new dress. It is an several years old AT sleeveless black shift that I wear with slings in the summer. However I'm trying it with NEW granny style boots (from the Bass outlet down from 149.00 to 23.00 dollars). I have teamed this with dark gray herringbone tights and my screaming yellow BR cardi, black and metal necklace, and my Talbots black striped jersey scarf. The topper is my new Eddie Bauer (from the outlet mall) poppy red raincoat. I really love the color. I hope this all meets with your approval. I have never worn a dress with boots and hope this work. I feel that I look a little like a "yellow jacket"!

Cream colored jacket alternate styling from green which works better?

I dragged out my off white Ann Taylor cropped blazer (hand me down from Twinnie) and tried teaming it with the base outfit I wore today. I realized I haven't worn it because I haven't been sure what to wear it with or even if it is flattering. I used the same scarf I wore yesterday. I have also post the same base outfit with the trusty green jacket as an alternative.

look #1
black boatneck
black jeans
black ballet flats
black and metal necklace
green jacket
green floral scarf

alternate look
all of the above minus the green jacket with a cream Ann Taylor jacket as substitute

Do they both work well? One may be better but I am trying to work the entire closet and haven't even worn the cream jacket yet. Is it flattering? Would it work with a sundress in the summer?

Opinions and suggestions are most welcome.....and Happy Friday. It's suposed to get to 65 degrees today. Woohoo!!!

Floral scarf with Green Jacket - It's a Beautiful Day

Hi lovely ladies!
It is such a beautiful morning and the wind is fairly still right now. Our weather is supposed to be nice into part of the weekend and up in the 60s!! Yay!
In honor of the lovely weather I wore:
green jacket
brown scoopneck sweater
stone colored straight leg cords
stone suede shooties (Born)
Black, copper green and white floral scarf that hubs gave me this summer! Wow I think this is the first outfit I've worn it with.

Opinions and suggestions are appreciated as always!

Navy and Yellow with Thrifted Patterned Scarf

Hello lovely ladies! Happy Wednesday! The sun is actually shining today and it is supposed to get to 46 degrees although it is predicted to be windy. To celebrate the sunshine I have worn:

Yellow BR cardi
Navy BR turtleneck
Blue and yellow patterned scarf (thrifted and not sure about the frump factor)
Glen plaid gray trousers
Black ecco booties
Black trench overcoat

In general does this look good together? I like the colors in the scarf but thought it might be a tad frumpy. Is it too much with the subtle glen plaid trousers? They are really almost a solid gray. Also, is the cardi better buttoned or unbuttoned?

Opinons and suggestions are always welcome!
