Sonnet for the Self

Hi Lovelies!
I just love this jacket and have been wearing it a LOT!!

Today it reached 95 degrees so for work I combined it with a sleeveless mid length polka dot dress with my clark denim wedges and my white watch. The jacket is perfect for the arctic weather in the bldg and I generally keep it on all day while inside. I do take a 1/2 hour walk everyday while on lunch break so then the jacket comes off since it is very hot outside!

Tonight hubs and I are going out for sushi after work! It has been a long time since we had a date night! Furbaby aka Reilly is staying overnight with the dog sitter so we can linger over our meal.

Hello Lovelies!
Sorry for not commenting on many posts the past few days but it has been a hectic week! Two coworkers gone so I've been holding down the fort. I hope to catch up reading some posts this weekend! Here is a new sweater I wore on an early morning walk with hubs and Reilly (aka furbaby). I hope you like it!

For those who know Boise, we are very lucky to have some lovely parks here. My personal favorite is Kathryn Albertson Park because it is a structured around a walking path that takes you through shaded forests and ponds. It is strictly a walking and ornamental park, that is to say, one doesn't go to picnic or throw a frisbee. They do allow dogs on leash except at the times that the geese and ducks are nesting.

Today hubs, furbaby Reilly and I went for our weekend walk. I really enjoy going before it gets to be scorching hot. It was as lovely as always and I look forward to walking it again tomorrow.

Threw on the BF jeans and new BR striped tee with my khaki sandals, white watch and white denim jacket. I hope you approve.

It is going to be up in the high 90's today. At least it is not supposed to get up to 108 as it did twice last week! I decided to give my new red skirt another outing so I teamed it with:
a newish black tank top from Talbots
khaki Clark sandals
white watch
white denim AE jacket
black and white gauzy checked scarf
black striped tote.

I have been taking a 30 minute walk daily at work (early when it is hot) so I wanted the tank top to stay cool. However, our air conditioning is consistently adjusted to blow frigid air though so I always have a jacket handy.

Hi Lovely YLFR'S!
I realized as I was getting dressed this morning that I hadn't worn either my coral or green denim jacket in awhile (I have been too busy enjoying my new white denim jacket and also relying on my trusty medium wash denim jacket). I thought I should give the coral one some love today so I teamed it with my newish JCrew - black and white gingham long sleeve shirt, white straight leg jeans, white watch and black wedges. I tossed in a black and white stripe tote just to keep the graphic contrast thing going.

I apologize for the hideous lighting in my hallway. I absolutely hate these new compact fluorescent light bulbs we are using. I love that they save energy but the lighting stinks and makes my coral jacket look really weird.

I am enjoying my newish white denim AE jacket (I looked forever for a nice soft one). I have teamed it with my newish black capri -( Talbots) and my purple ballet tee (JCREW) plus my white watch and black wedge sandals. It's a comfortable outfit and I hope you like it!

I took back my whole Talbots order I received the other day (I posted a tirade on the subject) plus two out of four JCrew tops and as I was leaving I decided to check out AT and BR. I didn't find anything I liked or needed at AT but at BR I found a few more summer tops which I definitely need. One of them is a striped tee (what a surprise!) and the other two are sleeveless. The black one has a drape neckline and will work with skirts as well and be able to be dressed up. The other sleeveless one is reminiscent of tops I wore in college and is slightly Boho or exotic. Even that is not my current style, I thought it was really cute and looked nice. I am planning on taking it down for a high school reunion with dear friends. I was actually sort of a hippie back then and I decided to let the little part of myself be expressed along with my current modern classic side. I hope you like the tops. I have included a few pics of them with different bottoms.

I'm sort of bummed! I ordered 3 cute dresses from Talbots and a striped blazer and a poplin jacket and 4 short sleeves shirts that all arrived yesterday afternoon. I ripped the package open and tried everything on. Out of the entire shipment only two pieces pleased me. I kept two sleeveless tank shells and everything else is going back this weekend to the local store. I really wanted the dresses at least to work! Sorry for the tirade! Here is one of the two shells (one black and one royal blue). I wore the royal blue today.

Hello Lovely YLFR'S,
I am debuting the second shirt I received from JCrew. Posted the black and white one that Jonesy and I both own yesterday. This is a deep royal (they call it french) blue that is a version of their stretch "perfect shirt". It is very comfortable and I adore the color. It is supposed to be 100 + degrees today and this breathes well and keeps me cooled off. I teamed it with my white denim jeans, khaki sandals, white watch, and denim jacket (it gets really chilly in our office by 12:00 pm) I hope you like it. I am wearing it un-tucked as a tunic.

I have been needing a few more shirts in my wardrobe so I took advantage of a sale at JCrew to pick up a couple, one of which I wore today. I really wanted some pattern in a black and white print (it will go with a lot in my closet) so I purchased JCrew's "perfect shirt in a black white checked pattern). It fits well and is very soft (which is important to me) and surprisingly cool. This was greatly appreciated as the temps are supposed to be in the 100' + range again today.
