I'm thinking better unbuttoned in this case, and wondering what the scarf would look like tied cravat style if you want to keep the cardi buttoned for warmth (menswear inspiration-wise, to update the look)...

Looks great! I love the combination of blue and yellow together-definately not frumpy, I would wear it:)

You are the best scarf-tyer on YLF (with the possible exceptions of Angie, AJ, and Vicki).
That is a lovely piece to have thrifted. And the yellow looks forward to spring!

Meredith, I think you can totally remix this scarf with some of your awesome (recently thrifted) vintage blouses! Print mixin' at its finest!

I love these colors on you. It looks a bit like you are being choked. :-) lol I think I'd like it better if the neck was a bit more open, but I still think you look fab!

I think it looks lovely and classic - very pulled together. Seeing the scarf tied tight over the turtleneck does make me feel a little clostrophobic/choke-y, but if it doesn't bother you, I do like all of the pieces together.

FAB!! I like it best with the cardi buttoned. Have you tried buttoning just the center button? It gives a nice waist-whittling X-shape action!

@ManidipaM
Good idea about the cravat style if buttoning the cardi. I didn't think to do that. Actually the scarf was kind of last minute and I didn't fuss around tying the way I usually try to do.
@Victoria,
Thanks for not thinking it "frumpy". You always look so stylish it's nice hearing this from you!
@Suz,
I am in truly great company if I even come close to the levels that Angie, Aj, and Vicki do. I have to learn the "Angie knot". The yellow is cheerful and I am so looking forward to Spring.
@Heather,
Thanks for reminding me about mixing possibilities with the vintage shirts. I'll have to play around with that!
@Jem,
Thanks for liking the colors. I am not choking at all but thanks for reminding me about the open neckline, because I have a navy BR vneck I can try with this look!
@JennyAnne,
Thanks so much and I am glad you like the look. Again, I am really not choking!
@MaryK
I actually do like it buttoned although maybe as you point out not all the way. I'll try the center button only cause I can use all the waist whittling action I can get!

I really like the colors in this scarf, and blue and yellow is one of my favorite color combinations. I like how the gold in the scarf *matches* the yellow cardi, sorta, kinda. Very nice, and not too much with the glen plaid trousers at all!

Hmm, on my monitor your t-neck looks purple and is throwing off the look for me.
That said, I love the scarf, cardi (buttoned is beter, try just the first couple buttons like MaryK suggested) and the pants. Especially love the combo of glen plaid/gray and yellow!

Really like the outfit; won't make suggestions since the day is over, but wanted to say that you look awesome in all of your pants, and the black trench is so classy as a finishing touch.

Cheery! I prefer the cardi unbuttoned, but I love the color combo.

Beautiful color mix, Meredith! How about tying it as a necklace with three knots? (Well really 4 if you count the one behind your neck.)
@Suz - I'm fanning myself from being placed in the same sentence as Angie and Vicki! You made my evening!! Thanks!!

You have to be the most stylish lady in all of Idaho. You look amazing, Meredith.

Amy,
I think I am the ONLY YLF member in Idaho.....except my twin who I got to sign up but hasn't been posting. I get a little lonely....
AJ
Great idea about the knotted necklace idea. I will have to play around with that!
