Darn weather! WIW Gray and Yellow

Hello fab ladies,
I have been trying to will Spring to arrive and it insists on thwarting me! One day it's nice and the next it's.....well....NOT Springy at all! However I will perserver with one foot in snow and the other in daffodils or some other appropriate flower.

What I wore today:
gray BR turtleneck
yellow BR cardigan
black and metal necklace
black skinnies (levi dem-curve)
taupe Born shooties (wanted a contrast. Hope my legs look don't look stumpy)
gray faux leather jacket (yes...again!)
poppy red eddie bauer raincoat
multi color warm ikat patterned scarf
black beat up rain hat

Opinions on everything are of course appreciated. I feel good about the outfit and even think the taupe booties look nice with the rest of it!

Bonus shot of the furbaby Reilly in # 6 although he didn't pose for me. Turned his back at the last minute.

    I like the shoes very much, are they new? And the citron and gray is marvelous... with the poppy topper too! A great look to brighten a snow-ey day!

  • biscuitsmom replied 12 years ago

    Terrific! You look great :)

  • Jilly replied 12 years ago

    I love you in yellow and poppy red Meredith! We have icky weather here today, too, although it's thunderstorming instead of snowing. You'll brighten everyone's day with your outfit.

    I'd say spring or not, it's a great way to cheer yourself up with layered coats of many colours on a grey day! I bet you make a lot of people smile when they see you.

    @Ginny,
    I have two pairs of Born shooties. This taupe suede pair and also a black leather pair. I also have two pair of their boots. They are VERY comfortable I agree! Thanks for liking the hat which is a little beat up and disreputable!

    @Sarah A,
    Actually the shooties are not new but you could never see them really well in my other posts since they seem to display better with the skinnies. Thanks for liking the poppy with the citron and all the other colors I have going on!

    @Biscuitsmom,
    Thanks for liking the outfit!

    @Jilly,
    I'm sorry you are having icky weather also. I am not fond of thunderstorms. I am such a chicken when I hear the thunder! Yes I feel cheery in color even if the weather is NOT cooperating!

    @ManidipaM,
    Thanks for the kind words! You have such a charming turn of phrase! I like that the coat(s) of many colors. You made me smile! :)

    Looks fab Meredith! At least your clothing is cheery and springy!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Shannon,
    Thanks for the thumbs up. Your outfit you posted today is ULTRA FAB!!!

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

    You look ready to handle cold weather but the yellow is daring the sun to come out!
    Poppy can handle anything and I continue to like her mixed with pretty much anything.

    I just bought the demi curve skinnies last night so hope to wear later today for first time.
    My legs are not as long and slim as yours and i got the medium. Anyone who is 5'6" or taller should go for a tall in these maybe? I am just pleasantly surprised i don't need to hem them.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    @Christieanne,
    Yay for getting the demi-curve skinnies. I also got the regular length and they are fine for me. My inseam is 32 so they seem to be just fine. Hope you like yours as well as I like mine. I do wish they had a "slightly" higher rise but it's still fine. Thanks for liking the poppy with pretty much anything.

    The bright yellow and grey make a lovely combo :)

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Kirti!

  • rae replied 12 years ago

    You wear that shade of yellow so well! So pretty with the bright coat!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Rae!
    At first I thought yellow and red would be "Ronald McDonald" but I actually like it!

  • MsLuna replied 12 years ago

    Love this ensemble, Meredith! :) The yellow and grey is awesome!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

    LOL, Meredith! Ronald McDonald *wishes* he was half as cheery as you!

  • fashionista replied 12 years ago

    You look great in all the outfits but my fav look is with the gray leather jacket. You are rocking those jackets.

  • felicia replied 12 years ago

    If we all shop like crazy, spring will get here that much sooner! Maybe not this year, but we definitely won't have to wait as long for future springs. The more we shop, the warmer we'll be, year round! Let's go ladies!

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

    I love the way you made everything spring-like even though you are bundled up in layers. The grey Born shoes are not stumpifying, very nice!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    @Katie,
    Thanks! Yellow and gray has turned into one of my favorite color combos. Sveta's post the other day with the gray teamed with that yellow double belt is gorgeous!
    @ManidipaM,
    Ronald McDonald can wish to be as cheery as I, as long as I am not dressing like him!
    @Fashionista,
    I depend heavily on the trusty $70.00 faux leather jacket. I am glad that it is not black. I actually gave my twin black eddie bauer bomber jacket because I tired of the black.
    @Felicia,
    If shopping will help Spring to arrive early then I am all for doing my part. I am expecting a parcel from Nordies (skirt, jacket, dress, top, and pair of flats) so hopefully that will hasten the pace at which Spring arrives.
    @CocoLion,
    Thanks for the reassurance about the born booties. They didn't look stumpifying to me but I like to get more feedback. It helps me improve my eye for what I think works for me.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

    You look absolutely terrific! Double up on those skinnies.

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

    I just love your yellow and grey. I have to dig around and see if I can come up with my yellow cardigan (do I still have it?) and grey turtleneck. Definitely need to copy-cat this look ;>

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

    Oh my goodness, go buy yourself some MORE skinnies! You look great in them!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    @Angie,
    Yes ma'am! I have some dark wash denim ones (same model) that I can't wear to work and I am eyeing the Wit and Wisdom ones in coral or blue. What do you think?
    @Rachylou,
    Copy away! I actually love this combo but also saw Sveta wear the gray with a lovely double wrap yellow belt and it looked so terrific!
    @Suz,
    Thanks! I will probably buy a few more pairs. I was so afraid to wear them before and now they are the most comfortable pants! Almost as comfy as yoga pants.
