Leopard, Leopard burning bright?

Ok....so I changed it from Tiger to leopard! Happy Friday and this is the last work day before a whole week of glorious Spring Break! I'm not going anywhere out of town but will bask in sleeping in late and indulging myself with reading and lunches (and maybe dinner out). Today I am teaming an orphan AT leopard cardi (gifted from my twinnie) with all neutrals except for the red raincoat. Hope it meets with approval. Here are the elements below:

Levin demi-curve black skinnies
Born taupe shooties
BR black vneck tshirt
AT leopard cardi
gray trusty faux leather jacket
leopard scarf from TJMAXX
red raincoat
black suede rainhat

Hope it meets with approval??? Heck ya!!! This looks great Meredith. All the proportions are really good here (someting I tend to obssess about) - I particularly love the skinnies with those Born shooties - divine. And you look wonderful in animal print....meow....

Why is that an orphan?? It is beautiful on you! Utterly meow-worthy! Glad it's got it's own twin in the scarf! So fashion-forward to mix the same pattern, two ways... :-D

That leopard print is divine on you! Love this outfit!

I can't imagine how leopard print could be an orphan--especially when it's as fab as that. leopard goes with everything!

    You look great, Meredith!

Love it! Will you wear the leopard scarf indoors with the leopard sweater? And hooray for spring break! Are you a teacher?

    Hi Ladies!
Thanks for reassuring me about the leopard print. I love the scarf but have been hesitant about the cardi. I still think the cardi needs something which is why overlaid it with the jacket and scarf.
    @Claire,
I actually am wearing the scarf inside and the jacket but have the jacket unzipped so that the cardi leopard is showing. Hope that seems ok.

    @Claire,
I work as an IT network and application specialist in the school district and fortunately we also get the spring break off!

I love the leopard cardi so much! Leopard print goes with everything!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Kirti!

Love it! Red and leopard is one of my fave combinations, and you are rocking it! Enjoy your spring break!

    Thank you so much MaryK!

You are surely shining bright, Meredith! I usually think of retro styles when leopard and reds are mixed, but this looks very fresh and modern. :D

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Thanks Rae! I am glad it looks modern. I love retro on some people (notably on Shannon) but haven't really desired it for myself.

I love the leopard cardigan, great pairing with the leopard scarf too! The proportions give you a fabulously long leg line....

  • Mona replied 12 years ago

Love your scarf and booties with this cardigan

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Mona,
I was concerned that mixing two leopard patterns might clash so I made sure I had the jacket to layer over them if I started to get any strange looks. Plus it gets cold in our office so the jacket goes off and then back on in a repeated pattern all day.

I like your leopard cardigan, it shouldn't be an orphan. :-)

What immortal hand or eye, could frame thy lustrous symmetry!

This look absolutely meets my approval.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Thanks Sarah A! I'm all about lengthening the leg line!

    RoseandJoan,
    Thanks for completing the quote!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Jem,
I guess the orphan has been officially adopted!

  • Astrid replied 12 years ago

Love the whole outfit, you look fab! No idea why this cardigan is an orphan - it looks great! Well, I expect to see it some more in the near future now that you have 'adopted' it. ;)

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Astrid,
I will definitely try to take it out in public more often now that I know it will behave and has been well received.
